CLIENT: OutgrainArts. Sharing stories of migration and disability.

As consultants DCB have recently completed a collaborative project alongside Mexican poet Ekiwah Adler-Belendez and the media artist Juan delGado to share the stories of migration and disability.

The Swallows Returned Earlier this Summer is a creative response to the uncertain times we are currently living. The two artists, based on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, embarked at the beginning of the summer on a virtual journey exchanging images and poems that culminated in a live – fully accessible poetry reading.

In their reflections, issues such as mobility, migration, disability and identity punctuate their artistic epistolary style collaboration, inspired by the Japanese poet Matsuo Bashō and when performed live encouraged a co-creation response from the audience in attendance.
